"Come out of her, My people" is a breakthrough interpretation of Revelation that connects John's prophecy with actual places and events of our time. According to Jesus; persecutions, betrayals, false prophets (such as The False Prophet), and lawlessness will occur between "the beginning of sorrows" and the "great tribulation". The Olivet Discourse warns Jesus' disciples in order to prepare them for the troubles ahead.  But as these sorrows begin, many Christians will be unprepared and disillusioned when they realize that a pre-tribulation rapture does not spare them from these difficulties.  In fact some plagues that could be avoided will overtake those who fail to respond to God's warning to "come out of her, My people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues".
A Jesuit theologian proposed synchronizing Daniel's last seven years with the bulk of Revelation. His motive may have been to discourage Luther and other Reformers from equating the Pope with the Antichrist.  Francisco Ribera's "Futurism" moved the time of the False Prophet into the irrelevant future, thus thwarting the accusations of the Protestants.
But where does this theory leave us today? The spirit of the prophets cries out "the end of the age is at hand".  Israel is once again a nation! And the earth is truly groaning with pangs; earthquakes, tsunamis, plagues, and wars. This is a critical time to examine God's Word on the subject.

"Ribera effectively sealed the last 19 chapters of Revelation until the time of the end.  But God told John expressly not to seal Revelation; "And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, for the time is at hand." (Revelation 22:10)  Daniel's "sealed week" is referenced within John's prophecy.  What is the conclusion?  God has made a distinction between Daniel's week of the covenant and the book of Revelation.  One was to be sealed and the other was not to be sealed.  They cannot, therefore, be speaking of  identical events.  Revelation includes Daniel's week but is broadly greater in scope than Daniel's final week."

Daniel was to seal his prophecy until "the time of the end".  If the End Times are equated with the "last days" initiated by the coming of Messiah, then we are also living in the days when these prophecies should no longer be sealed up.

Irenaeus of Lyons lived about a hundred years after John and was instructed by Polycarp, John's disciple.  John's interpretation of his own writings were recorded by Irenaeus, indicating the Historicists and the Futurists are both partially correct.

" He says also: "And he will cause a mark [to be put] in the forehead and in the fight hand, that no one may be able to buy or sell, unless he who has the mark of the name of the beast or the number of his name; and the number is six hundred and sixty-six,"
that is, six times a hundred, six times ten, and six units. [He gives this] as a summing up of the whole of that apostasy which has taken place during six thousand years."

"For in as many days as this world was made, in so many thousand years shall it be concluded. And for this reason the Scripture says: "Thus the heaven and the earth were finished, and all their adornment. And God brought to a conclusion upon the sixth day the works that He had made; and God rested upon the seventh day from all His works."  This is an account of the things formerly created, as also it is a prophecy of what is to come. For the day of the Lord is as a thousand years;
and in six days created things were completed: it is evident, therefore, that they will come to an end at the sixth thousand year."

"But when this Antichrist shall have devastated all things in this world, he will reign for three years and six months, and sit in the temple at Jerusalem; and then the Lord will come from heaven in the clouds, in the glory of the Father, sending this man and those who follow him into the lake of fire; but bringing in for the righteous the times of the kingdom, that is, the rest, the hallowed seventh day; and restoring to Abraham the promised inheritance, in which kingdom the Lord declared, that "many coming from the east and from the west should sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob."

Excerpt from Introduction
"Come out of her, My people"
So what sort of signs of the times should those who "walk in the day" be able to see; as the Day approaches?  Some highly visible characters are identified in John’s prophecies.  One of these characters is a nation that rules over all the other nations, and is such a mighty world power that the other nations proclaim, “Who is like the beast? Who is able to make war with him?” (Revelation 13:4)  (If the reader is not used to picturing the "beast" as a nation, please hold your objection for a few chapters)  The Great Harlot, and/or Babylon the Great, is clearly spoken of as the trading capital of the world.

Unfaithful to God

blood red moon
" . . . and the moon will turn to blood before the great and terrible Day of the LORD"

"Another, and perhaps the most significant, similarity between the Great Harlot and the US is how perfectly She exemplifies “the Mother of all Harlots”.  What the is source of legalized fetal abortion?  Where have premarital sex and the homosexual lifestyle been legitimized and promoted?  What is the world’s source of pornographic images?  Not to mention the biblical definition of spiritual adultery; turning away from the Holy One of Israel.  “The inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornications” (Rev. 17:2b).   Has any nation ever been so successful at spreading her filth throughout the earth?  Could a future nation possibly match the breadth and depth of moral depravity that this great country has poured out upon the globe?  Hard act to follow!  Dare I suggest; impossible.  What more could be indulged in?  How could a nation be more influential?"

Kirkus Discoveries Review******
Interpretation of the Book of Revelation, with special emphasis on the identity of Babylon. Inspired by the events of September 11, 2001, Steinle decided to conduct an in-depth study of the New Testament Book of Revelation. He of course treads well-covered ground, and his conclusion will come as little surprise—the fall of the World Trade Center, he intones, may be the beginning sign of the fall of the Great City of Babylon as described in Revelation. Steinle’s opening chapters describe in detail the various prophesies revealed to John at Patmos, drawing in other biblical literature as well, such as from the Book of Daniel and the apocalyptic sayings of Jesus in the Gospels. The author brings up the intriguing possibility that the city of Babylon does not represent a single nation but perhaps a world government or federation, but he still believes that the United States, as a single world superpower, may be the center or beginning of such a dominating global force. He points out that two major prophecies have yet to come to fruition: global persecution of Christians and the marking of citizens in order to be able to conduct commerce. Both prophecies, he believes, are possibilities within the foreseeable future. Steinle’s approach differs from those of many other writers on this topic in a major way: He is careful not to make absolute statements or to definitively interpret this very difficult scripture. By presenting his ideas as possible interpretations only, he succeeds in maintaining credibility even with the skeptical reader. His conclusion—that Christians may want to flee the U.S. if it truly is the biblical Babylon—is intimated rather than bluntly stated. Steinle’s reading of scripture is certainly fundamental in approach, but modest enough to be a welcome read to a wide audience.
Modest, yet traditionalist, reading of Revelation.
